Terrace Trends +

Seeing as though weve been a little lax on the blog-front over the past few weeks, we thought a bit of academia could be a way of kick-starting our grey-matter!

It just so happened that, a good friend of ours popped in the other day to see if we'd be willing to discuss the current trends and brands being worn on our nations football terraces up and down the country of a weekend, for a masters in marketing she's currently writing.

Apparently Tom at Terraces was in the frame for the grilling, being a seasoned football fan and subscriber to the casual scene since the age of fourteen, Ruth, thought he could be a good source of knowlegde.

The chat went along the lines of...

What is Teraces (and shops like it) to terrace culture?
What are the labels that different age ranges of lads buy to be seen in at the game?
Why are the labels the lads buy so important for them to be seen in?
Do lads look for exclusive brands and individual pieces anymore or have the days of£500 Stone Island jackets passed?
Will lads continue to buy the labels even though times are tight????

We will have the inteview in full for you all to read in a month or so, hopefully along with a couple of others shes done...

So in the meantime, if you get five minutes, we'd like to know what your thoughts are on the above questions, there are no right or wrong answers, just your honest opinion!
Put your age and which team you follow and we'll send you a discount code for your troubles...

Cheers,

Terraces.

Parklife +

We had a little wonder up to Parklife in Manchester this weekend, and lets just say, it wasn't for the faint hearted, full of dubstep, drum and bass, sunshine, rain, hail and loads of mud...The choice of bands that were on were out of this world, such as Sub Focus, Simian Mobile Disco, Two Door Cinema, 2 Many DJs, Chase And Status and loads more, it was a very long couple of days for us, but we managed to survive and get back in one piece, I took along a great selection of clothing to help me through the treacherous weather when it was sunny i had on the Napapijri Scaddon Short and The Fred Perry Twin Tipped Polo, On the Sunday when the heavens opened i wore The Fjall Raven Kalfjall Jacket, it kept me warm with its thick stretchy material and its gummed zips to stop all the wet getting though and the warmth getting out, all in all it was a fantastic weekend, and an amazing experience, stay tuned for full write up on Glastonbury in two weeks as we are driving down to sunny old Somerset, we will be their for the full five days so you will be able to see what to wear and what not to wear, Glastonbury is known as the biggest festival in England, and the biggest festival for Fashion, people travel from all over  the world just to come here, wearing clothes from everywhere, we will choose some of our best fashion accessories and clothes from Glasto and will get them straight online as soon as we get back! Happy Festivaling!!

Multi-Tool Madness +

I was just browsing the internet when i came across this beaut from Victorinox. Weighing in at a hefty 1 pound, (nearly 1/2 Kg) this multi tool has a massive 80 functions encased in the classic Victrinox knife form, including a clock, altimeter, barometer, thermometer, wrench, wood saw…..and on and on it goes. Of course, it still has the trusty bottle opener, lets be honest, who in their right mind would carry around a half kg pen knife in their pocket, if you cant open a beer with it?!? I’m struggling to think of exactly who would use such a mind blowing tool, Bear Grylls springs to mind... This has got to be the ultimate addition to any Swiss Army Knife collection! Prices for this range from £200-£400 I cant think of anything that would top it....

Apart from this:

This device is one of two in the series, they are both based on the 74-mm Executive-type Victorinox army knife, but, the main materials used are extremely expensive. The yellow gold model has the shells made of pure yellow gold 75, inset lengthwise with 430 flawless diamonds according to IF-VVS standards and a Wesselton top, with a total weight of about 4 carats, and it comes in at a massive £50.000!

Peaceful Hooligan +

We have an ever growing relationship with Peaceful Hooligan here at Terraces which is why we are happy to announce their arrival! Their autumn/winter stock is due to land in the next few months, and you will not be disappointed! Creating a vibe from the years gone by Peaceful is a must for all subscribers to our nations "casual culture". The seasoned pros are able to relive their youth and the up-coming boys appreciate a sense of heritage though expressional tees and cutting edge jackets, with their accsessible prices and their individual style its hard to find something you don't like! As we don't have it in store at the moment click on the link above to have a gander at what products they provide and click here to see what's going on at PH HQ! below is a little write up about them and what they are about:

Peaceful Hooligan was born from a desire to create the clothing we wanted to wear but could never quite find in our favourite stores. With our focus on quality rather than trends and fads, we want to build kit to survive the things we do, from misbehaving down the pub to following our colours around the country. The inspirational moments coming from the things we have done over the years, from the early rave scene, the football terraces and the laughs we have had along the way. Mixing these influences together to create something that is tailored to our urban surroundings and the way we live our lives, constantly evolving but always remaining true to our philosophy
